Connect & Reflect-ing on the success of our shared learning sessions

For the last few months at Community Chesterfield we have been offering free sessions connecting the community, the health and social care sector and the University to allow them to discuss, learn from and reflect on the common experiences we each have.

We work incredibly hard to strengthen the offering of local community and voluntary groups through learning and development, with the overarching aim of improving the health and wellbeing of the people of Chesterfield.

Through our Connect & Reflect sessions, we have created a mutually beneficial forum where people will have the opportunity to share knowledge, experience and skills with others in the community. This will help to discover new opportunities for best practice, ultimately helping to strengthen the skills, knowledge and expertise of people within our community.

Connect & Reflect sessions have been running on the second Tuesday of every month and each covers a different topic. Each facilitated Zoom session has an accompanied Padlet, to enable participants to continue making connections and reflecting on their shared leaning. The interactive online networking and learning sessions are for those working at or volunteering for a third sector organisation in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas, staff and students of the University of Derby who have an interest in Chesterfield and individuals working within the Health or Social Care sector in Chesterfield.

Topic so far have included:

  • Co-Production

  • Coaching & Building Teams

  • Accessible & Creative Communication

  • End of Life: Those who give support, need support.

These sessions have been incredibly well received and we are proud of creating effective interactive online networking and learning sessions. Here is just some of the positive feedback we have received!

“Excellent presentation and example of online learning/networking”

“I want to say I really enjoyed this session. Gentle and kind and really friendly. More please”

The evaluations show that people have found the sessions useful, relevant, and well organised.

Our next session planned for December 14th is Social Media: Professionally Sociable. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/connect-reflect-social-media-professionally-sociable-tickets-154457942865

Social media can be an extremely powerful tool for both individuals and organisations. It can be one of the most effective ways of raising awareness of what you do, sharing your successes and the positive impact of yours or your organisations work. Using social media in the right ways will also create an opportunity to network and share valuable resources with others to connect, strengthen relationships and build a community.

  • Do you use social media in your personal or professional life?

  • Do you have any experiences and opinions, positive or negative, you would like to talk about?

  • Do you have questions you would like to ask others about how social media could be a tool to support you professionally or personally?

If you have an experience to share, want to hear and learn from others and make links within the wider health and social care community in Chesterfield, join us at a future Connect & Reflect session – take a look at our event page for more information!
