We are excited to update you all on some future developments for the project. Many of you will remember some work we delivered during the pandemic called, “Your Life, Your Chesterfield” where we brought people together to dream and envision what they would like their town to look like into the future. Through the delivery of this, we learned lots of new things, for example, how many passionate and enthusiastic people there are locally wanting to make change happen and how challenging it can be to bring about these changes.

Our collaborative team seeks to appoint a Business Relations Co-Ordinator to help us increase our profile and connections with Business Communities around Chesterfield and Derbyshire, to help us take the project to the next level.

The University of Derby are opening their doors and offering a FREE friendly breastfeeding support group.

On Wednesday 25th May some of our favourite voluntary groups joined us down at University of Derby’s Kedleston Road Campus where, together, we ran an interactive session on the 5 ways to wellbeing.

With enormous thank you the the National Lottery and their supporters it is possible to continue the Community Chesterfield Project.

Community Chesterfield, which is coming to the end of its third year, is reflecting on the impact it has made within the health and social care sector after creating almost 4,000 ‘meaningful connections’ across Chesterfield.

We were delighted recently to experience an inspirational tour of the United Cast Bar in Chesterfield, discussing everything from science and languages to innovation and safety. Read more and take a look at our short video for an insight into what we go up to!

We are excited to be hosting a special event to celebrate everything the Community Chesterfield project has achieved since its launch in 2019. Our Project Showcase will provide an opportunity for local community groups and colleagues from the university to come together and reflect on the positive impact the initiative has had on the local voluntary sector.

As our current round of National Lottery funding comes to an end, we'll soon be looking to hire a graduate to help us evaluate the impact of our project on the voluntary and community sector in Chesterfield over the last three years and, as part of this, we'll be asking for your valuable input!

We are inviting Chesterfield-based businesses to join us at an online focus group to assist in shaping an exclusive new business consortium, which will enable businesses, academics and voluntary sector organisations to transform the skills and knowledge in the region and strengthen our communities.

For the last few months at Community Chesterfield we have been offering free sessions connecting the community, the health and social care sector and the University so they can discuss, learn from and reflect on the common experiences we each have. Part of our work is to link up the skills, knowledge and experience at the University of Derby, with those of the local community sector. As part of our Experts by Experience programme, we’re looking for expertise in all areas of health and social care and we would love to hear from you!
